  • India : Intel, at the ongoing Computex 2017 conference,New Delhi, has launched its much rumored Intel Core X series. The range includes the high-end i9, i7 and i5 processors, all of which are aimed for a select set of audience such as gamers who make custom gaming rigs or creators.




  • Intel is not only introducing the 18-core consumer processor to attract enthusiasts and graphic-intensive workers — a rather niche market. The chip-maker is also debuting a slew of Core i9 Extreme Edition desktop chips, including 10, 12, 14 and 16-core variants.


  • The most powerful in the series, Core i9 Extreme (i9-7980XE), is the company's first to sport as many as 18 cores and 36 threads, whereas the least powerful Core i5 processor comes with 4-cores and 4-threads. The base processor, which is the Core i5-7640X, starts at $242 (roughly Rs 15,600).








  • The Core i7 series ranges from 4-core,8-threads to 10-core, 20-thread. It starts at $339 (roughly Rs 21,900) and goes up to $599 (roughly Rs 38,700).
